These days I live in downtown, but like many Seoul residents, I love going camping during holidays and the weekends in the mountains just outside of the city. I gather up some old friends, and we head out.
First thing we do is set up base camp, set up the tents, and prepare the campfire before it gets dark. I love bonfires — something about sitting around the bonfire with friends and reminiscing about the good old days is just magical. Especially as we cook food together!
Just recently I went to my favorite camping spot, which I hadn’t been in a long time. This time I had a new bag with me, from Builford’s line of waxed canvas bags. It was the Roll-Top Safari Backpack, which is really designed for outdoors use. It made the trip so easy!
I’m really happy with it. The look is really nice too, with a nice blend of waxed canvas and leather. It feels quite vintage, which I appreciate, but it’s also very rugged. I think it will be my companion for many camping trips in the future!
I have to admit though that these days I don’t often sleep in tents. I’d prefer a cottage. Maybe that’s because the weather is getting colder, or maybe I’m just getting old and lazy!! But tent or cottage, it doesn’t matter, because I get to be out in nature, with good friends, beautiful scenery, and a good drink never too far away…
